Prediction coming to pass…
What I feared is more and more looking like it will become a reality. The ouster of Egypt’s President is leading Egypt into a possible serious crisis which may result in a civil war. Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama’s decision will go down in history as a historic blunder.
Extreme factions within and from without Egypt are vying for control of the government. The Egyptian military is flatly stating that they will not allow those factions to rise to power. In contrast, these same factions with similar policies of the Muslim Brotherhood are demanding the creation of an Islamic state with the implementation of Islamic law.
As the Muslim Brotherhood and others seek this power and it appears that they are already taking actions to implement their polices even though they have no legal authority to do so.
As the supporters of Islamic law continue to attempt to force the public to accept their ideas of what Egypt should be, the military will need to use more and more force to stop them. They will naturally resist by demonstrating and even use terrorism in an attempt to force the issue on the Egyptian people. The Egyptian military will have to use ever increasing force to counter. Mass arrests and detentions will result. Many on each side will die in the process. Only a bloody crackdown will stop the process.
This can lead to civil war. The United States and the UN will attempt to intervene diplomatically and will find it impossible to stop the violence. They will have to acquiesce to the Egyptian military taking control of the situation. A stable secular Egypt is vital to the region.
The UN, Europe and the United States created the problem they now find themselves in. Radical Islam is sweeping across the Middle East and North Africa. The West for decades was in denial of the reality of this and for the most part lacked any real coherent policy to address this issue. Now we are in a crisis that unless resolved will lead to a catastrophe, a clash of civilizations.
